Officially known the United Republic of Tanzania came about in April 1964 when the first independent elections were held and “Tanganyika” and “Zanzibar” were merged into one country.

Tanzania boasts with the highest and lowest point in Africa. Mount Kilimanjaro at 5 985m above sea level, and Lake Tanganyika at its lowest point at 352m below sea level.

Of the more than 100 languages spoken in Tanzania, Swahili and English are mostly spoken. Major export partners are Switzerland, South Africa and China, with imports mainly from China and the UAE.

Tanzania is very diverse in all aspects, from agriculture, language, culture and religion. Surely a country that needs to be explored to its fullest.
